SE3K Survivors Experience 3000

H.E.R.O.

Activision, Sega · 1985

Activision's 1984 game, written by John Van Ryzin. Roderick Hero flies down a collapsing mine on a backpack rotor to reach trapped miners, with a helmet laser for the bats and spiders and a fixed number of dynamite sticks for the walls. The lamp is the timer: it drains as you descend, and the deeper shafts are lit only by what you carry.
